Founded in 1993 by Jean-Luc & Pamela Gustin, Chenil Belge is backed with 18 years  experience.

Le Chenil Belge provides German Shepherds bred to the FCI standard for work, show and companionship.

Truly a Family Run Kennel

  Our love affair with the German Shepherd took on a new meaning in 1993.  On a visit to relatives of Jean-Luc's in Louveigné, Belgium, we visited "Le Chenil de la Jardinière"  (The kennel of the gardener).  This kennel is owned by a cousin, Freddy Gilles, and has been in operation for more than 30 years, producing many National Champions, both in the European conformation ring and working trials.  For more information on our European connection, please view the European page.

  For many years Jean-Luc had wanted to own one of his cousin's German Shepherd dogs.  When asked if we would like to take a dog home, we said "YES".

     We now have imported several of the dogs from his kennel and have established a careful breeding program at our home in Mulino, Oregon to carry on the tradition of breeding high quality dogs.  As a blended family with 1 daughter and 5 sons, we felt we needed something we could all work at and learn about together.  The dog kennel was a wonderful choice as we all learned many new skills that the children will use throughout their lives.  We have learned how important our pets are to us as we travel through life.  We've experienced many joys and a few sorrows as we have grown as a family.  We hope we have the opportunity to share pet ownership with you.

  We, at Le Chenil Belge, believe in the European style German Shepherd Dog, and we work very hard to produce German Shepherd Dogs true to the European (FCI) standard.
